When we met!

What happened on 2nd of April was a meet-up-stretch-out-get-inspired session and more, that was made to happen, as quoted by Sriram, “by design”.

It was a commendable effort worth its purpose, emphasizing the need of oneness among the workforce elements, team members like myself, to take forward the amazingly successful 11 year existence of the company, iridium Interactive.

Sriram kick-started the activities, on a scene set flawlessly by team consisting Rabi, Chandana, Sailesh, Sujana, Abhishek and Sreekanth. The whole workforce was split into 4 teams, who named themselves as Unos, Eagles, Teen Mar and Fantastic 4. The activities started with randomly selected members introducing each other and getting comments from all around them. The activity introduced all sorts of jovial, tense, gyani, diwani people from the crowd.

I was glad I could share a smile with the team, learn some names and introduce myself as someone more than just a walkman-wearing-guy-lost-in-workland. Amazing thing was that I realized I was sitting amongst one laudably resourceful and accomplished team, who didn’t have that fact worn heavy on their faces.

Right from Bharathi, whom I met first in the company, everybody had embraced a culture of being humble powerhouses in their own rights, who contributes their immensely valuable services to Iridium to help it really “put the . on the dot”. The activity was very much fun and everybody had their chance to open up which is so rare in workplaces as I have observed. Rabi kept the smiles going with his gyaans, Salahuddin seemed like he knew it all and happy to be, Abhishek was frank and jovial, Nayak looked his fit best and passed honest comments, Bharathi glowed as bright as she always did, and Sriram reminded me a saying that “true leaders inspire others to be leaders too and not followers”.

Latter half of the meeting shifted focus to iridium’s work culture, accomplishments and why those accolades came our way. Sriram spoke well about how to meet challenges systematically and simplify it as it were not challenges at all. At the end of the day, the workforce was bound tighter, happy and ready to trek the next many miles of accomplishments together.
