The project “VELUGU” was started by the government of AP keeping in mind the development commitment of the state as envisaged in Swarnandhra Pradesh ‘ Vision 2020 ‘ policy document, The main goal of the project being `Rural Poverty Elimination Program’ Velugu literally stands for`light’ in Telugu.The velugu project was a world bank funded venture. The project understands that sustainable poverty eradication requires the recognition of the poor as active partners in the processes of social change, therefore all project interventions are demand based and are in response to the proposals conceived and planned by the poor. |
